Mike D’Alessandro


Before joining Kind Quilts, Mike D’Alessandro spent four years as a Board Member with a nonprofit organization that delivered handmade quilts to Children’s Hospitals all around thecountry. Mike was part of a team of six business people that navigated the nonprofit world with the structure, skill sets and disciplines consistent in corporate America. The core group of business people that Mike was a part of led initiatives to find, build and develop successful strategic alliances and partnerships. These relationships led to national marketing campaigns with many well known Fortune 500 companies and their subsidiaries in several different industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, and sports and recreation.

Mike serves as Principal, heading up McGuire Sponsel’s Mid-Atlantic regional office. He works closely with CPAs and attorneys as well as financial, banking and real estate professionals in order to identify opportunities to apply Research & Development Tax Credits, Cost Segregation Studies, fixed asset reviews and 179D/Energy Efficient Building Tax Incentives.

Mike has extensive experience in specialty tax services, including:

  • Federal and state Research & Development Tax Credits
  • Cost Segregation Studies
  • Export Incentives such as the Section 199D Domestic Production Deduction
    IC-DISC
  • Inventory-related specialty tax planning strategies and methodologies such as the Inventory Price Index Computation or IPIC LIFO, Auto Dealer LIFO and Net Inventory Method, Dealer Discount, and Advertising Expense

Since 1991, Mike has worked in the construction and manufacturing fields where he was a top performer with four public companies, two of which were Fortune 200. He has also been heavily involved in industry-related organizations such as the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI),American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC). Mike earned his MBA in finance from DeSales University and his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.
